It is with a heavy heart that District 50 announces the passing of LaShunda Rundles, 2008 World Champion of Public Speaking. She was in Orlando, Florida attending the Toastmasters International Convention.
"LaShunda made history by becoming the first African-American Woman to win the title of World Champion of Public Speaking, opening the door for many to compete on the world stage." said Deonna Moore. "She embodied everything that Toastmasters represents and stands for. She is also the subject and focus of the new documentary SPEAK!"
Diagnosed with systemic lupus her senior year of high school, LaShunda has struggled with numerous physical challenges associated with an unpredictable disease that affects the joints and other tissues throughout the body.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held for LaShunda M. Rundles Saturday August 25th, 2012 at 11:00 am.
The service will be held at Friendship West Baptist Church, 2020 W. Wheatland Rd. Dallas, TX 75232.
