The Dallas CPA Society serves its nearly 6,000 CPA members in Dallas and 13 surrounding counties. Tim was recognized for both his service to the CPA profession as well as that to his CPA firm. In addition to serving on the Board, he also teaches in the Society’s Leadership Development Academy and is the Vice Chair for an annual 1,200 attendee conference provided as a member benefit.
How did Toastmaster’s prepare Tim? Six years ago Tim originally joined to improve his communication skills; however, he quickly became involved in various leadership positions. Individuals he considers mentors in Toastmasters taught him something critical: The leadership positions that make you most anxious before accepting result in the greatest personal growth. He points specifically to his past positions as conference chair and assisting with building new clubs. What he learned in those positions, he now applies every day professionally.
